Six more people have died of dengue in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, while 1,608 others have been hospitalized with the viral disease.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) confirmed the figures in a press release on Saturday.
According to DGHS data, the dengue death toll has risen to 256 this year, with 148 deaths recorded in September alone.
So far this year, 84,369 people have been hospitalized with dengue across the country.
