Four people have died of dengue across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 1,978 were hospitalized during the same period, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
According to DGHS data, 249 people have died of dengue in the country so far this year, including 148 deaths recorded in September alone.
A total of 81,598 people have been hospitalized with dengue this year.
In the last 24 hours, 2 people died in Rajshahi Division, while 1 each died in the Dhaka North City Corporation area and Mymensingh Division.
