Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Monday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,099.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all three of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 998, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 101, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the three new suspected fatalities, the highest concentration was recorded in the Chittagong division, with two deaths. At the district level, one casualty each was recorded in Chittagong, Noakhali, and Sylhet.
A total of 1,214 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Monday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 189,255.
During the same period, 96 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 21,308.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 167,469 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 160,705 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
