Nine more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Sunday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,096.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all nine of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 995, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 101, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the nine new suspected fatalities, the highest concentration was recorded in Dhaka, with four deaths reported in both the Dhaka division and Dhaka district.
A total of 1,228 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Sunday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 188,041.
During the same period, 113 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 21,212.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 166,310 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 159,519 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
