The death toll from suspected and confirmed measles cases in Bangladesh has reached 1,065, with two more suspected measles-related deaths reported in the 24 hours to till 8am Tuesday.
The latest deaths were reported in Dhaka and Khulna, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the two deaths reported in the latest 24-hour period, none was confirmed as a measles-related death.
Since March 15, a total of 964 suspected measles-related deaths have been reported, while 101 deaths have been confirmed as measles-related.
Meanwhile, 1,257 new suspected measles cases were reported in the 24 hours to 8am Tuesday, including 92 confirmed cases.
The cumulative number of suspected measles cases has reached 182,292 since March 15, while 20,738 cases have been confirmed.
During the period, 160,980 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals and 154,510 were discharged.
The figures were provided in the DGHS health bulletin on Tuesday, based on data from the Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room.
