Four more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Saturday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 991.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified three of the latest casualties as suspected, while one has been clinically confirmed.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 891, while the number of confirmed deaths rose to 100.
Among the latest suspected fatalities, Sylhet division recorded the highest count with two deaths.
A total of 843 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Saturday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 163,105.
During the same period, 74 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 19,641.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 143,214 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 137,921 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
