Health officials on Monday said they recorded 1,163 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least four persons in the past 24 hours.
"During the period, (of the 1,163) 132 patients were hospitalized in Barishl division while 120 in Chittagong division, 159 in Dhaka division, 123 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 182 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 283 in Khulna division, 69 in Mymensingh division, 87 in Rajshahi division, seven in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 97 deaths while the disease inflicted 35,846.
Last year, the dengue claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.
Besides, the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
