Dengue: Death toll 88 as three die in 24 hours

Health officials said three more people died of dengue and 907 new cases were recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the 907 new patients, 163 were hospitalized in Barisal division, 99 in Chittagong division, 49 in Dhaka division, 168 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas and 88 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement.

The statement said 202 patients were hospitalized in Khulna division, 45 in Mymensingh division, 73 in Rajshahi division, 19 in Rangpur division and one in Sylhet division.

So far this year, 88 people have died of dengue, and 30,830 have been infected, according to the DGHS.

Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people in the country.

In 2024, the disease claimed 575 lives and infected 101,214 people.
