Dengue claims two lives as 730 cases recorded in 24 hours  

Health officials on Saturday said 730 new dengue cases were recorded, with 2 people dying from the disease in the past 24 hours.

According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement, 17 patients were hospitalized in Barisal division, 89 in Chittagong division, 66 in Dhaka division, 137 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) areas, 171 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 123 in Khulna division, 27 in Mymensingh division and 10 in Rangpur division.

Since the start of the year, Bangladesh has recorded 67 dengue deaths, while 23,173 people have been infected with the disease.

Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.
