Four more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Saturday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 867.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified two of the latest casualties as suspected, while two have been clinically confirmed.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 769, while the number of confirmed deaths rose to 98.
All four new fatalities were reported in the Dhaka division and Dhaka district.
A total of 677 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Saturday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 135,332.
During the same period, 99 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 17,040.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 117,444 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 113,200 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
