Three more children have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Wednesday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 831.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified two of the latest casualties as suspected, while one has been clinically confirmed.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 735, while the number of confirmed deaths rose to 96.
Chittagong division recorded the highest concentration of casualties in the last 24 hours, with two suspected deaths.
A total of 996 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 126,540.
During the same period, 79 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 15,739.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 109,366 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 105,198 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
