One more child has died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Friday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 780.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified the latest casualty as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 685, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 95, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The single new suspected fatality was reported in the Mymensingh division, specifically within the Mymensingh district.
A total of 873 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 116,011.
During the same period, 140 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 14,244.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 98,600 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 95,031 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
