One more child has died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Wednesday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 719.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified the latest casualty as suspected.
The single new suspected fatality was reported in the Sylhet division, specifically within the Sunamganj district.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 626, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 93, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 951 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Wednesday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 102,028.
During the same period, 167 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 12,132.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 85,509 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 81,882 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
