Seven more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Saturday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 677.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all seven of the latest casualties as suspected.
Among the seven new fatalities, the highest concentration was recorded in Dhaka, with six deaths reported in both the Dhaka division and Dhaka district.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 584, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 93, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
A total of 807 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Saturday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 91,789.
During the same period, 80 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 10,949.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 75,902 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 71,970 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
