101 fresh dengue cases detected overnight

Health officials on Thursday said they recorded 101 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

"We recorded 101 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8 am today," a spokesman of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.

"Out of the 101 fresh cases, 35 were hospitalized in Barisal division, 14 in Chittagong division, 10 in Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 14 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one in Mymensingh division, six in Rajshahi division and 20 in Khulna division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year claimed seven lives and inflicted 4,600 people.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
