Health officials on Wednesday said they recorded 87 fresh cases of dengue outbreaks in the past 24 hours.
“We recorded 87 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8am on Wednesday,” a spokesman for the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
“Out of the 87 fresh cases, 35 were hospitalized in the Barishal division, 15 in the Chittagong division, 13 in the Dhaka division, one in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), eight in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), two in the Mymensingh division, one in the Rajshahi division, three in the Sylhet division, and nine in the Khulna division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year has claimed seven lives and afflicted 4,499 people.
Dengue last year claimed 413 lives and afflicted 102,861 people in the country.
Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and afflicted 101,214 people in 2024.
