Health officials today said they recorded 73 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
"We recorded 73 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in 24 hours ending at 8am today (Wednesday)," a spokesman for the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said.
"Out of the 73 fresh cases, 38 were hospitalized in the Barishal division, 10 in Chittogong division, five in the Dhaka division, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 13 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), one in the Mymensingh division, four in the Khulna division, and one in the Sylhet division," a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year has claimed six lives and inflicted 3,917 people.
The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and afflicted 102,861 people in the country.
Besides, dengue claimed 575 lives and afflicted 101,214 people in 2024.
