Another child dies with measles symptoms in Sylhet

Another child has died with measles symptoms in Sylhet division in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths linked to measles and related symptoms in the region to 58 this year.

Meanwhile, 18 more patients have been admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms.

The information was revealed in the “Measles and Rubella Patient Report” published by the Sylhet Divisional Health Director’s Office on Friday.

According to the report, a child died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours.

The deceased was identified as nine-month-old Arim from Alampur in Sunamganj’s Chhatak upazila.

Currently, 205 people are undergoing treatment for suspected measles at various government and private hospitals in the Sylhet division.

Among them, 29 patients are admitted to Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital, while 96 are receiving treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
