Four suspected measles-related deaths were recorded in the 24 hours till 8am Friday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 1,177 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 168 were confirmed to have measles through laboratory testing.
So far this year, at least 23 children have died from confirmed measles infection in Bangladesh. In addition, another 144 children have died showing measles symptoms.
DGHS data showed that between March 15 and April 10, a total of 2,409 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing.
The latest health bulletin also said 13,497 suspected measles patients have been identified nationwide so far. Of them, 6,609 patients have been discharged after receiving treatment.
