PM visits Mirza Abbas at Evercare Hospital 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday visited BNP Standing Committee member and his political adviser Mirza Abbas at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

The prime minister went to the hospital after Jumma prayers to inquire about the veteran BNP leader’s health condition.

During the visit, he spent some time at Mirza Abbas’s bedside and also spoke with members of his family.

Tarique Rahman directed the relevant authorities to make swift arrangements for Abbas to receive advanced medical treatment in Singapore.

Mirza Abbas’s wife, Afroza Abbas, president of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, and doctors on duty at Evercare Hospital were present during the prime minister’s visit.

Earlier on Friday morning,  BNP announced that Abbas would be taken to Singapore for advanced treatment. An air ambulance from Evercare Hospital is scheduled to depart for Singapore at around 6:00pm, where he will be admitted to the Neuroscience Department of Singapore National University Hospital.

The BNP leader was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital’s Bashundhara area on Wednesday night after he suddenly fell ill and lost consciousness.
