One more individual has died of Covid-19 in Bangladesh in 24 hours till Monday, raising this year’s total death toll to five.
This brings the country’s total Covid-19 death toll to 29,504, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
During the 24-hour period, 25 new Covid-19 cases were detected out of 231 samples tested, it added.
With the latest figure, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases rose to 2,051,858.
This year, 284 new cases have been detected.
According to the DGHS, the detection rate in the last 24 hours stood at 10.82%.
The DGHS added that the most recent fatality was a woman aged between 71 and 80, who had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.
