Vaccine: DGHS calls for patience over SMS notifications

DGHS spokesperson and Director (Disease Control) Dr Nazmul Islam has called for patience from those who have registered for Covid-19 vaccination but are yet to receive SMS notifications.

He also urged the people to continue following health rules and not to become complacent due to the reduction in the Covid-19 infection rate.

"In addition to following hygiene rules, we should not overcrowd the vaccination centres. We should not cause inconvenience to those who go for vaccination,” he added during the regular media bulletin on Covid-19 on Sunday

“The country is not Covid-19 free. New patients are still being identified every day. We must be vigilant in protecting public health and behave responsibly,” he further said.

All conventional hygiene rules should be followed until a vaccine that is 100% effective is available, said Dr Nazmul Islam.

As many as 12% of the country’s population, or 20,264,513 people, have been fully vaccinated.

A total of 56,021,746 have registered for the vaccine, while 39,896,268 have received the first dose.
