Health Minister: Five divisional hospitals to get burn units

The government is planning to built units in five divisional hospitals funded by Saudi Arabia, says Health Minister Zahid Maleque.

He made the remarks while responding to a question tabled at the Parliament by ruling party lawmaker M Abdul Latif on Monday.

The burn units will be built in Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Barisal and Faridpur and the project will be implemented from July 2022 to June 2025.

Moreover, a 100-bed burn unit funded by China will be built at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he said.

Moreover, burn units for Mymensingh district and Khulna districts will be built under the fourth sector programme.

Responding to a query from the lawmaker, the minister said that the hospitals have been strictly ordered to treat any patient that comes to them for emergency treatment.
