A total of 704 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the 24 hours to Saturday morning in Chittagong after testing 2,480 samples in 16 labs in southwestern district.
With the latest count, the daily infection rate stood at 29.05%. Health officials said the number of overall Covid-19 cases rose to 110,097.
The total number of recovery rose to 96,082 as 154 people recovered from the virus in a day.
Civil Surgeon Ilias Chowdhury said the rate is 87.27% with one more new death was recorded during the period.
A total of 1401 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here, the sources added.
