Dengue has been on the rise since the beginning of this month, with 29 people getting infected in the last 24 hours and one person succumbing to the disease.
As of Wednesday, 131 people were admitted at different hospitals of the country with dengue.
According to information provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room, of the 29 people diagnosed with dengue in the last 24 hours, 28 are from Dhaka.
According to the DGHS bulletin, of the 131 patients hospitalized with dengue, 128 are in 41 Dhaka hospitals and three are in hospitals outside Dhaka.
Since January 1 this year, a total of 565 patients have been admitted to different hospitals across the country while 434 have returned home after treatment.

Though DGHS data claim that there has been no death from dengue this year, an assistant professor of the general history department at Jagannath University, died of the disease in the early hours of Wednesday.
Syeda Nasrin Bably, 35, wife of Deputy Attorney General Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar, died in the capital’s Square Hospital while she was on life support.
The Proctor of Jagannath University, Dr Mostafa Kamal, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.
Syeda Nasrin Bably was admitted to Square Hospital with dengue fever on June 20. The next day she was taken to the ICU. When her condition deteriorated, she was put on life support.
Later she passed away at around 4am on Wednesday.
She has left behind her husband, a son, relatives and well-wishers.
Bably had been teaching at Jagannath University for seven years. She graduated from Dhaka University's history department with a first-class degree and a presidential gold medal.
