Bangladesh on Monday administered a total of 138,879 people their second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, taking the tally to 522,596.
As many as 93,534 men and 45,345 women got their second Covid vaccine and none of them experienced any adverse events, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Meanwhile, 22,456 people received their first vaccine shot the same day. So far 5,649,563 people have got the first dose across the country.
As many as 7,058,999 people had completed vaccine registration till 5:30pm on Monday.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) had decided to provide the second dose from April 8 as the nationwide inoculation started on February 7.
Though initially it was decided that the second dose would be provided four weeks after inoculating with the first dose, later the gap was changed to eight weeks.

On March 8, health authorities in Bangladesh reported the first three cases of Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus strain named Sars-CoV-2.
Bangladesh on Monday recorded the highest daily deaths as 83 people died from the deadly virus. The death toll in the country currently stands at 8,523 with a mortality rate of 1.42%.
Meanwhile, 7,219 more tested positive, taking the total number of infections to 691,957.
The novel coronavirus broke out in China's Wuhan city in late December 2019 and quickly spread throughout the world, becoming a pandemic in less than three months.
The fast-spreading coronavirus had claimed more than 2,951,000 lives and infected as many as 136,780,000 people across the world till Monday night, according to worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics.
As many as 109,995,000 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has affected 219 countries and territories across the planet.
