Bangladesh has completed administering the Covid-19 vaccine to over 3.7 million people since the nationwide vaccination began on February 7.
A total of 3,789,352 healthcare professionals, front-line fighters, and people aged or above 40 years have been inoculated against the deadly virus as of Sunday.
Of them, 2,420,853 are men and 1,368,499 women, according to a press release by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). Among them, 848 people have reported experiencing adverse effects.
Meanwhile, a total of 5,017,804 people completed their registration to receive the vaccine till 5:30pm on Sunday.
According to the DGHS, 107,200 people received vaccines on Sunday.
Of them, 65,430 were men and 41,770 were women. Some 23 people went through some common adverse events.
Highest number of people vaccinated in Dhaka
The highest number of vaccines was administered in the Dhaka division, while almost all the divisions across the country have lower or equal numbers.
Some 39,244 people were vaccinated in the Dhaka division on Sunday. Of them, 22,776 people were vaccinated in the capital city while 16,470 people were vaccinated outside the capital city in the division.
Till now total 1,189,498 people have received the first of the two doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in the division.

Meanwhile, as of Sunday, 159,116 people have been been given the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine in Mymensingh division, 804,504 in Chittagong, 410,480 in Rajshahi, 345,719 in Rangpur, 487,333 in Khulna, 173,161 in Barisal, and 219,541 in Sylhet.
On March 8, the health authorities in Bangladesh reported the first three cases of Covid-19, a severe acute respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus strain which was later named Sars-CoV-2.
The novel coronavirus disease broke out in China's Wuhan city in late December 2019 and quickly spread throughout the world, becoming a pandemic in less than three months.
The fast-spreading coronavirus has claimed more than 2.6 million lives and infected nearly 117.2 million people across the world till Sunday night, according to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics.
As many as 92.74 million people have recovered from Covid-19, which has affected 219 countries and territories across the planet.
