Government task force to conduct inspection in public, private hospitals

A task force formed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is going to conduct inspection in both public and private hospitals, aiming to stop illegal activities. 

The decision came at an emergency meeting of the task force committee on Tuesday afternoon, according to a ministry notice.

Health Ministry Additional Secretary (Public Health Wing) Mostafa Kamal, also convener of the task force committee, chaired the meeting.

The meeting also said that doctors who work in public hospitals were not allowed to practice at private institutions during office hours.

The task force made the following decisions unanimously at the meeting:

       • Public hospital doctors are not allowed to work in private health institutions during office hours. If they do, they must inform the task force and others concerned.

       • Every hospital, diagnostic center, lab or clinic must have a licence registration number.

       • Inspections will be carried out in both public and private hospitals for illegal activities.

       • Licences of unregistered organizations will not be accepted till November 16.

The task force committee's Member Secretary Shibbir Osmani, Director of the Hospital Branch of the health directorate Farid Hossain Miah, Joint Secretary Salma Tanzia, Joint Secretary Sayla Farzana and other members were present in the meeting.
