Mymensingh jail super dies of Covid-19

The Senior Jail Superintendent of Mymensingh Central Jail, Abu Jahed, has died of Covid-19.

The 58 year old breathed his last around 12:45pm on Sunday.

He was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Rajarbag Central Police Hospital.

Md Manzoor Hossain, assistant inspector general of prisons, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

He said: “Jahed joined Mymensingh Central Jail in March this year. At first he was admitted to a hospital in the district. Later he was shifted to Dhaka for better treatment on July 10.”

The deceased is survived by his wife, a son, and daughter. 

He worked in Jessore, Comilla, Pabna, Ragamati, Jamalpur, Narayanganj, Bagerhat, Netrokona, Bogra, Jhenaidah, and Satkhira since he started his professional career in 1991.
