Bangladesh Bank adviser Allah Malik Kazemi dies from Covid-19

Adviser of the Bangladesh Bank Allah Malik Kazemi has died from coronavirus infection.

The change management adviser of the central bank breathed his last at 5pm on Friday while being treated at the Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, the central bank's Executive Director Kazi Sayedur Rahman told Dhaka Tribune.

Kazemi had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for several days after he was tested positive for coronavirus. He was on life support after his condition deteriorated.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir mourned the death of Kazemi, who is the second central bank official to die from Covid-19.

Joint Director Sheikh Farid Uddin had died four days ago.

Kazemi, who served as deputy governor at the central bank, was appointed as an adviser after his retirement.
