Dhaka’s Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital will prioritize the treatment of Covid-19 positive healthcare professionals.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has sent a letter to the hospital authority on Saturday in this regard.
In the letter, DGHS Director (hospital) Aminul Hasan said many doctors, and other health workers, contracted the coronavirus while providing treatment to patients and some of them also died.
If the healthcare professionals are not provided with proper treatment, healthcare services, including Covid-19 treatment, will be hampered.
The letter asked the hospital to provide Covid-19 positive doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers with all inpatient and outpatient services.
Earlier, Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) had urged the government to dedicate a hospital for the treatment of health workers infected with the coronavirus in a letter written to the health minister.
