The government has locked down and declared general holiday at red zones in ten districts in a bid to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
In a notification issued on Sunday, the public administration ministry declared general holiday for areas with high infections in the districts of Chittagong, Bogra, Chuadanga, Moulvibazar, Narayanganj, Habiganj, Munshiganj, Comilla, Jessore and Madaripur.
It said that all government, semi-government and autonomous organisations in areas declared as red zones will remain shut. However, emergency and essential services will remain out of the purview of the order.
