Eminent historian Prof Muntasir Mamun has been hospitalized with symptoms similar to the Covid-19.
The 69-year-old Dhaka University history Professor was admitted to Mugda General Hospital on Sunday evening.
Assistant Prof Dr Mahbubur Rahman, who is working as the focal person of the hospital’s Covid-19 response team, said: “He has coronavirus symptoms. We will test him tomorrow (Monday).”
However, he will not be shifted to the ICU at this moment, he added.
Prof Muntasir is well-known for his various research works on the Liberation War in 1971. He also stood as a witness before the war crime tribunal.
Prof Muntasir is also the vice president of Ekattorer Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Committee.
