17 RAB officials infected with coronavirus in Narayanganj

Around 17 members of the Rapid Action Battalion-11 have tested positive for the deadly coronavirus in Narayanganj.

Along with the 17 officials, 39 people who came into contact with the infected officials--including deputy director, senior assistant director etc-- were asked to remain in isolation for 14 days to prevent the virus from spreading, confirmed Lt Col Imran Ullah Sarker of RAB-11 on Thursday.

“We sent samples of 211 people Dhaka. Around 90 test reports came back among which 17 were tested positive,” said Alep Uddin, senior assistant director of RAB-11.

Lt Col Imran Ullah of RAB-11 confirmed he sent his samples to the IEDCR and it came out negative and said: “As soon as any of our members are reporting us about their symptoms we are directing them to be in home-quarantine. Around 39 members are sent to isolation and among which 17 are admitted in different hospitals.”
