Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hinted that the lockdown will be removed slowly, but educational institutions might remain closed till September.
The premier made the statement while addressing a video conference with representatives and officials of the districts under Rajshahi division, on Monday morning.
She said: “We are not going to open schools, colleges, and other educational institutions right now, they will remain closed till September if the Covid-19 situation remains unchanged.
"We will open educational institutions only after the coronavirus situation is under control.”
She also said, the government is trying to restore regular and normal life gradually.
Sheikh Hasina said, “Disasters come naturally. This disaster has spread worldwide and we have to face it together.
“Darkness is not permanent, there will certainly be light soon,” she added.
Prime minister said: “Five people died of Covid-19 yesterday, and we hope the death rate will decrease. Once that happens, we will gradually remove restrictions on vehicles and goods transportation.
“There is no obstacle to goods transportation right now. I have already given instructions regarding this. We are thinking about more options for goods transportation to ensure market price remains normal,” she furthered.
