Police have placed some buildings in two areas of Mirpur under lockdown as two separate cases of coronavirus infection were reported from there.
A building was put under lockdown in Paikpara as a resident of that building tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.
Mirpur Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the report.
Meanwhile, police locked down several buildings when a man died with coronavirus symptoms in Mirpur-11.
Pallabi police station OC Nazrul Islam said a few other buildings were earlier put under lockdown under his police station’s jurisdiction.
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has identified Mirpur as one of the cluster zones in the capital.
