A 65-year old man has died of Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) at Fouzderhat in Chittagong.
BITID Director Professor DR MA Hassan Chowdhury confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Friday morning.
“He tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. The patient had different complications including diabetes and breathing problems," said DR MA Hassan Chowdhury.
As of Friday, five patients including a six-year old boy have died of Covid-19 in Chittagong.
Bangladesh has reported 1838 coronavirus cases until Friday. Among them, 75 died while 58 have recovered so far, according to health authorities.
