Five more people, including a six-year old boy, tested positive for coronavirus in Chittagong on Sunday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the district to 14.
The cases were confirmed after their samples were tested at Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) at Fouzderhat in Chittagong.
Out of the 14 cases, one patient died two days before his samples were tested.
On April 3, a 67-year-old man had tested positive, making him the port city’s first confirmed case.
Since March 8, when the country's first three cases were reported, there have been 621 Covid-19 cases and 34 deaths around Bangladesh, according to health authorities.
