Around 409 pilgrims who had visited Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah landed at Hazrat Shahjalal Airport.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft ferrying the passengers landed at the airport around 4:09pm Monday, confirmed Md Mokabbir Hossain, managing director of Biman.
They were stuck at the Kingdom due to suspension of flights to and from Bangladesh over the Covid-19 pandemic.
Dr Md Shahriar Sazzad, health officer at the airport also confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune
After initial medical screening at the airport the passengers were allowed to go home.
They showed no symptoms of Covid-19, Mokabbir added.
Earlier, the Saudi authorities had cancelled Umrah over Covid-19 fears.
Meanwhile, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights to and from Kuala Lampur of Malaysia due to the global coronavirus outbreak.
On Monday, Biman decided to suspend its flights to Oman as the country clamped a travel ban on all foreigners.
Earlier, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar suspended all flights with Bangladesh due to the pandemic.
The government on March 14 had prohibited all incoming flights from Europe, except the United Kingdom, till March 31.
Later, on Monday, the government made 14-day home quarantine mandatory for anyone arriving here from abroad.
