Nasim inaugurates ‘Vitamin A plus 2018’ campaign

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim has inaugurated the first round of the four-day-long National Vitamin A plus campaign 2018 in Pabna.

The minister inaugurated the campaign as the chief guest at Pabna General Hospital at 9:45am on Saturday. Additional Health Secretary Habibur Rahman presided over the program.

“The vitamin A capsules for children are completely free,” said the health minister as he urged everyone to go to the vaccination points with their children.

“These vaccines will prevent our children from getting night blindness,” he added.

The minister also said he had kept his promise in establishing a 500 bed capacity hospital in Pabna.

 “Four 500 bed capacity hospitals will be established in the country through Indian funding, and one of them is in Pabna. Our honourable prime minister will inaugurate the foundation work of the Pabna hospital today (Sarurday).”

Pabna-5 Member of Parliament (MP) Golam Faruque Prince also spoke on the occasion. former state minister of the Home Ministry Shamsul Haque Tuku, Pabna District Council Chairman Rezaul Rahim Lal, Rajshahi Health Division Director Anisur Rahman and District Civil Surgeon Tohajjel Hossain were present at the program, among others.

From 8am to 4pm yesterday, children all over the country were given the vitamin A capsules.
