Offices to follow new schedule starting Sunday amid energy crisis

The government has revised the working hours for public and private offices in response to the global energy crisis triggered by the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.

Under the new decision, office hours have been reduced by one hour and set from 9 am to 4 pm. The revised schedule will come into effect on Sunday.

At present, government offices operate from 9 am to 5 pm. With the new arrangement, offices will run for one hour less each day. The government said banks and courts will set their own schedules under their respective authorities.

Meanwhile, all shops and shopping malls across the country have been instructed to close by 6pm, a directive that came into effect from Friday.

The decisions were taken at a cabinet meeting held on Thursday night.
