The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has canceled the allocation of 12 flats previously allotted to eight former secretaries, three retired judges, and another retired government official.
This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the ministry on Tuesday.
According to the press release, those whose flat allocations were canceled are former judge and ex-commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission Zahurul Haque (4,105.05 sq ft), former senior secretary Yunusur Rahman (2,315.83 sq ft), former senior secretary and ex-ACC commissioner Dr Mozammel Haque Khan (4,308.68 sq ft), former secretary MA Kader Sarkar (2,049.13 sq ft), former senior secretary Dr M Aslam Alam (2,049.13 sq ft), former secretary Akhtari Momtaz (2,049.13 sq ft), former secretary Sirajul Haque Khan (2,315.83 sq ft), former senior district and sessions judge Md Manjurul Bashid (2,315.83 sq ft), former registrar general and senior district judge Syed Aminul Islam (2,049.13 sq ft), former chief of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Prof Nehal Ahmed (2,049.13 sq ft), former senior secretary and election commissioner Anisur Rahman (2,315.83 sq ft), and former senior secretary SM Golam Faruk (2,049.13 sq ft).
The ministry stated that the decision to cancel these allocations was made based on a report by a committee formed by the National Housing Authority and the resolution of its 274th board meeting.
The flats were part of a self-financed housing project implemented by the National Housing Authority under the title “Construction of Residential Flats at Various Abandoned Houses in Dhanmondi and Mohammadpur (Dhanmondi Housing – Phase 1).” These flats are located at House No 711 (new 63), Road No 13 (new 6/A) in the Dhanmondi Residential Area, Dhaka.
