The finance adviser has announced that a budget allocation of Tk405.2 crore has been proposed for the families of the martyrs and the injured of the July uprising for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presented the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, amounting to Tk7,89,999 crore, in a televised speech on Monday.
He said that necessary measures are being taken for the treatment and rehabilitation of the families of the martyrs and the injured of the July uprising.
In his speech, detailing the budget, Salehuddin said that to preserve the history and memory of the July uprising and to rehabilitate the families of the martyrs and the injured students and people, as well as to firmly establish the ideals and spirit of the uprising in the national and state life, the “July Uprising Directorate” has already been established.
Furthermore, the process of establishing Ganabhaban as the “July Uprising Memorial Museum” is underway, the adviser noted.
A policy will soon be formulated to provide allowances to the families of the martyrs and the injured, he added.
