The government has sent four deputy inspector generals (DIGs) of police to retirement, effective immediately.
A notification, signed by Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary of the Public Security Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs, was issued on Sunday.
The retired DIGs are Md Nisharul Arif (Anti-Terrorism Unit), Md Abdul Quddus Amin (Naval Police), Md Azad Mia, and Amena Begum (Highway Police).
According to the notification, they have been retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). However, they will receive retirement benefits as per government regulations.
