A ban has been imposed on the use of Dr Muhammad Yunus' image in advertisements across newspapers and other media outlets.
This directive was issued in a statement from the Chief Advisor’s Office on Friday.
The statement reads: “The use of the honorable chief advisor's image in advertisements or other forms of promotion in newspapers and various media is prohibited.”
The interim government was sworn on Wednesday, with Nobel laureate economist Dr Muhammad Yunus as its chief advisor.
However, the day after, several national newspapers carried advertisements congratulating Dr Yunus with his image, leading to widespread discussion and criticism on social media starting from Friday morning.
In response, the Chief Advisor’s Office has issued a statement declaring that the use of Dr Yunus’s image in such advertisements or promotions is not allowed.
