Police transfer seven DIGs

Seven deputy inspector generals (DIGs) of police have been transferred to various key positions, including Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and Chattogram Range.

A circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was issued in this regard by order of the president on Monday.

According to the notification, Md Anwar Hossain, current commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), has been transferred to Chattogram Range as DIG, while DIG of Chattogram Range Khandaker Golam Faruk has been shifted to Bangladesh Police Academy at Sardah, Rajshahi as its vice principal.

Vice Principal of Sardah Police Academy Md Abdullahel Baki has been transferred to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) as DIG, while CID DIG Imtiaz Ahmed has been transferred to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) as an additional director general (ADG).

RAB ADG Jamil Ahmed has been transferred to CID as DIG, while Additional Commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Saleh Mohammad Tanvir has been transferred to CMP as its commissioner.

Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mahbubur Rahman has been shifted to the Industrial Police Unit as DIG.
