PM: 64 secretaries to monitor relief operations in 64 districts

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said secretary level officers of the government will monitor the relief work at district level as they have less work in the secretariat right now, due to Covid-19 attack.

The premier made the statement while addressing a videoconference with representatives and officials of the eight districts of Dhaka and Mymensingh division, on Monday morning.

“I have assigned a secretary for every district to monitor the relief work and submit a report to me, because they have less than regular workload in the secretariat due to the coronavirus outbreak,” the premier said.

“In addition, I have already instructed my party colleagues to form relief work committees up to ward level. These committees will help local administration to make a proper list of jobless people, who really needs the food aid provided by government,” said Sheikh Hasina, also the president of the ruling Awami League.

Public representatives and officials of Manikganj, Gazipur, Tangail and Kishoreganj in Dhaka division and Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona and Mymensingh in Mymensingh division were connected to the videoconference.
