Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the authorities concerned to provide assistance to victims of Cyclone Fani, after quick assessment of loss and damages.
She also prayed for the salvation of the souls of those who died during the cyclone, and expressed deep sympathy for bereaved families.
The prime minister, who is now in London, directed leaders and activists of Awami League to cooperate with the administration regarding assistance for the cyclone victims, reports UNB.
Cyclone Fani hit Bangladesh on Saturday morning, damaging a significant number of houses and cropland as it swept through the north-western part of the country after making landfall in Odisha, India.
