Govt employees in remote locations to get extra allowance

The Cabinet Division has issued a directive to introduce an additional allowance for government employees working in 16 remote upazilas.

The directive, sent to the Ministry of Public Administration and Finance Division on Tuesday, said that government employees working in the newly-declared remote upazilas will receive additional pay similar to hill tract allowances.

According to the National Pay Scale 2015, all government employees working in upazilas of the hill tracts receive 20% of their salary— a maximum of Tk3,000 in sadar upazilas and maximum of Tk,5000 in other upazilas—as a hill tract allowance.
