Minister: Govt plans to give allowance to all differently abled people

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed on Sunday said the government plans to give a stipend to all people with disabilities in Bangladesh.

The minister said this in replying to a question placed by opposition lawmaker M Moshiur Rahman Ranga of Rangpur 1 in the House, with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

“The country has identified nearly 16 lakh 30 thousand disabled people and the program to recognize the disabled is on-going,” he said.

There are 10 lakh disabled in Bangladesh who are getting insolvent disabled allowances and another 90,000 disabled are getting an education stipend.
